Pole to Pole Expedition chooses Air Covers
Posted: Jul 2006

Jennifer Murray and Colin Bodill, two of the world's most experienced helicopter pilots, choose Air Covers. They've flown in Arctic blizzards, high mountains, across deserts, through the typhoons of South East Asia, and they appreciate that there is no second-best in choosing equipment.

The Polar First Expedition (www.polarfirst.com) has selected Air Covers to provide them with the protection that their Bell 407 will require along their route which starts and finishes in New York after landing at both Poles.

Jennifer and Colin's requirements were for a lightweight but extremely strong silvered cover. Air Covers commissioned Lindstrand Technologies, the makers of Mars Lander parachutes and stratosphere airships, to test their Supermarine Aircover to destruction. The fabric passed all tests for humidity, UV, tensile and shear strength.

Colin is pictured with ex-Legionnaire Simon Murray's Gazelle. We digitised and embroidered the French Foreign Legion cap badge onto Mr Murray's cover.
